Welcome to ORMC

Summer 2023 Session Information

  • The Summer quarter enrollment is now open.  It will close on 6/10.
  • If the number of applicants exceeds the number of slots available at a level, we will give an assessment test. Admissions will be largely based on the tests' results.
  • The Beginners 1 assessment test will be given on Sunday, 6/18, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, tentatively in MS 4000 A.
  • The BNP assessment test will be given on Sunday, 6/18, 2:00 - 3:00 PM, tentatively in MS 4000 A.
  • We don't yet need assessment tests at other levels.
  • First day of classes: Sunday, 6/25.
  • Last day of classes: Sunday 8/27.
  • No classes on Sunday, 7/2, the Independence Day weekend.
  • All classes will be taught in person.
  • The Summer session is not open to regular ORMC students. It is meant to give children outside of our regular ranks a taste of the Math Circle culture.

Donations form a crucial component of the Circle's budget. Quarterly donations at the level of $250 per student are needed to sustain the high quality of our program.  Please consider ORMC as a part of your giving plans this season! Donations are not a factor in enrollment decisions and do not entitle your child to enrollment.

Satellite Math Circles

In the academic year 2022-23, an ORMC Advanced 1 student, named Lawrence Pang, along with his six friends, continued their ORMC Satellite Program for students in grades 2-3 at Wittmann Elementary School. This year's class was moved to an in-person format, doubling the number of students. The students found the curriculum and Math Circle methods to be vastly more fun and engaging, especially with the in-person format and interpersonal interaction that comes with it. Lawrence and his team plan to continue in-person classes to expand their community impact and help everyone interested get the Math Circle experience.

An ORMC student is named as one of the top 40 young scientists in the nation by Regeneron Science Talent Search

Regeneron Science Talent Search, formerly Intel Science Fair, is one of the oldest and most prestigious national science competitions for high school students. An ORMC student, August Deer, was named as one of the scholars this year. Hats off to August! The Circle is grateful to Prof. Salman Avestimehr (USC) for giving August a chance to do research in his lab.
