Rules for ORMC Visitors

The following rules for ORMC visitors are based on the UCLA Regulations Governing Conduct of Non-Affiliates in the Buildings and on the Grounds of the University of California document, please see here:

A person visiting UCLA Olga Radko Endowed Math Circle (ORMC) is considered a non-affiliate, if they are not a

  • ORMC student;
  • parent of an ORMC student;
  • UCLA student, graduate or undergraduate;
  • UCLA employee, faculty or staff.

An ORMC session is a private event, not open to general public. A non-affiliate can only attend an ORMC session, if they were invited to do so by one of the following persons:

  • ORMC director or deputy director,
  • ORMC Steering Committee Chair,
  • Chair of UCLA Department of Mathematics.

Any person, including an invited non-affiliate, is allowed to be present in an ORMC classroom during instruction as long as:

  • the lead instructor(s) of the class does not mind the visitor;
  • the visitor does not interrupt the class verbally or by their action;
  • the visitor does not take still pictures and/or video recordings of students and/or instructors without their permission.

A visitor shall leave the class immediately after being requested to do so by the class’s lead instructor(s). A visitor shall leave the ORMC area immediately after being requested to do so by the ORMC director and/or deputy director.
